About

This database represents the first searchable collection of climate change policy language. This database is composed of policies and implementation options drawn from jurisdictions that have already developed climate change policies and programs.

The policies in this database are organized hierarchically and coded by relevant keywords to facilitate easy identification of policies that are relevant to individual local government needs.

By selecting the tabs above you can either browse the whole collection or search by keywords to identify policies that are relevant to your interests.

At anytime you can return to the rest of the Climate Policy Toolkit by clicking on "return to toolkit" at the top of any page.

In addition, examples of policy language and implementation options were adapted from The Institute for Local Government's Best Practices Framework.

The contents of this database were first compiled by the California Sustainability Alliance and then expanded upon and implemented as part of this toolkit by Strategic Energy Innovations in partnership with the California Sustainability Alliance under a grant from The Bay Area Air Quality Management District Climate Protection Program.
