Grades of Green is an environmental education nonprofit with the mission of inspiring and empowering kids and the broader school community to care for the environment. Position Summary
Advisor for the 2021-22 Climate Solutions Campaign. Responsible for providing customized mentorship and support to assigned 5th -12th grade student Campaign Teams. Ensures Campaign Teams reporting to you are registered and on track during each Campaign Phase.
Advisor will also provide feedback on program related materials and assist in developing new materials. Provides research and data analysis for all programs. Supports Programs Manager in creating campaign messaging, materials, outreach events and sharing Campaign stories to the marketing and communications team.

OVERALL RESPONSIBILITIES
CAMPAIGN and LAUNCH Programs- Mentoring assigned student teams (Campaign Teams) in the Grades of Green Campaigns, which includes:
o Providing each assigned Campaign Team with customized email and phone support in rolling out their selected project for the Campaign
o Participating in trainings for Campaign Teams such as webinars, workshops, etc.
o Participating in virtual discussion platforms to support Campaign Teams
o Compiling metrics and results and analyzing data from all Campaign Teams for use in grants and Final Reports
o Assist in scoring Campaign Teams’ responses and selecting winners
o Celebrating each Campaign Team's success at the end of the program
o Providing feedback for Launch program
o Compiling metrics and data for Launch participants
o Advising Launch students and educators, as needed

PROGRAM GENERAL
o Participating in the development of Campaign related materials for teams
o Attending and participating in weekly staff meetings, or as scheduled
o Participating in task-specific jobs related to events
o Attending and managing outreach events on a case-by-case basis;
o Providing support to Grades of Green schools and student teams not involved in the Campaign
o Assist in preparation for outreach events and Grades of Green fundraisers

RESEARCH
o Provides research and analysis on selected projects
o Organize and maintain spreadsheets of data and resources
o Provides analysis of data and recommendations based on analysis
o Assist other Program Advisors with miscellaneous research
o Reach out to registered teams as they sign up for the campaign
o Contact and thank people who have signed up for the newsletter

Basic Eligibility
AmeriCorps fellows must:
o Be US citizens or legal permanent residents
o Have a high school diploma/GED
o Be 17 years old or older
o Pass state criminal and FBI background checks, and a national check in the Dru Sjodin National Sex Offender Public Registry
o Test negatively for tuberculosis
o Be able and willing to commit to the 11-month service term
o Be able and willing to work remotely if needed due to ongoing COVID-19 public health considerations and shelter-in-place orders.

Desired qualifications/characteristics:
o Has a deep passion for sustainability, with the practical skills and abilities to affect change in a small and dynamic organization
o Can work effectively as a part of a team
o Passion for working with and advising students
o Has a fun, positive and engaging presence
o Is tech-savvy with proficiency in using the Google suite, Microsoft Office suite - and is proficient in variety of web-based applications with the ability to track and analyze large amounts of data and information related to environmental and outreach metrics. High proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets is a plus
o Excellent organizational, writing, interpersonal, and speaking skills
o Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
o Ability to work independently and carry out assignments, make independent judgments and/or decisions, and discern when action at a higher level is required
o Must be able to effectively manage multiple projects and maintain an organized and well communicated workflow
