Work Environment: Hybrid (Remote and On Site)
Approx. 75%: in-person on assigned garden sites or in activities required to maintain sites (e.g. procuring materials).
Approx. 25%: remote work conducting coordination and communications activities (e.g. volunteer management; creating content for partners, social media, volunteers, or educational resources).
Term: March 2023 - August 2023; 900 hours; 40 hours/week
Living Allowance Stipend: $2,636/month
Education Award: $3,247.50 upon program completion

About Each Green Corner
Join an exciting community-driven non-profit combating food insecurity through urban
agriculture and community building. Each Green Corner (EGC) is a non-profit organization
based in San Mateo County that solicits, designs, installs and assists in maintenance of
vegetable/fruit gardens at school sites, residential gardens, non-profit organizations and more,
with excess produce harvested by EGC for donation to non-profit food distribution partners.
EGC’s mission also includes educating and increasing awareness around issues of food
security, nutrition, public health, mental and physical health, sustainability in agriculture, and the
intersection of all of these issues with urban agriculture. To learn more about EGC programs

Position Overview & Description
EGC seeks a full-time dynamic, results-oriented professional dedicated to food justice and
sustainable agriculture who is interested in becoming a key player in a dynamic, flexible, rapidly
scaling organization. As our Program Coordinator, you will manage daily operations for our
three programs— Residential Gardens, Living Campus, and Seedling Starter—by:
Volunteer Management (est. 30%)
Coordinating volunteer recruitment, training, scheduling, and recognition;
Serving as first-line point of contact for volunteers, including promptly responding to inquiries and corresponding as necessary;
Managing volunteer records within EGC’s customer relations management system Neon SSO;
Identifying and developing print, video and other educational and training resources for volunteers;
Working closely with the EGC programs team, including Site Coordinator AmeriCorps Fellows, to regularly assess needs for volunteer expertise, training, and level of volunteer staffing;
Communications & Outreach (est. 60%)
Drafting and managing EGC’s content creation through various stages of the publication pipeline to ensure high quality and on-schedule publication consistent with internal content guidelines, including regular newsletter, social media, site-specific regular updates, and all other external communications;
Identifying and developing content and resources for various target populations related to the mission focus areas, including but not limited to resources for educators, children, public policy makers, and the general public;
Initiating, developing and maintaining relationships with community partners, including technical advisors, volunteer organizations, event partners, site partners, and potential supporters;
Conducting outreach and education to the general community and potential partners/volunteers;
Leading weekly in-person outreach activities at farmers’ markets, garden clubs, community partner events, and other sites to promote education and awareness around EGC’s activities and mission areas;
Grant Writing & Development (est. 10%)
In consultation with the CEO and Development Advisor, draft and submit grant applications, grant reports, and other required funding documentation to support programs;
Accurately maintaining records within internal databases detailing grant application, notification and reporting task management and deadlines;
Collaborate with internal teams to monitor progress against program budgets to forecast funding availability and need;
Collaborate with CEO and Development Advisor to execute strategy for donor stewardship;
Other program-related activities as needed.
Candidates should have:
Positive, collaborative approach with a passion for food security, sustainable agriculture, public health, and/or other EGC mission areas;
Experience working with low-income communities, schools, and/or community-based (non-profit) agencies;
Desire to collaborate across internal teams, external partnerships, and with volunteers to achieve EGC’s goals;
Excellent written and verbal communication skills across a range of formats (correspondence, articles, social media engagement, presentations, formal writing) with an exacting attention to detail;
Attention to professionalism and cultural competence across a range of interactions, from community volunteers of all ages to professional-level community partners and funders;
Ability to independently prioritize and execute tasks within set schedule, while seeking support and feedback as appropriate;
Familiarity with G Suite platform (Drive, Sheets, Slides), Canva, and various social media platforms;
Bilingual in Spanish and English a plus.
Willingness to regularly work weekends;
Access to a car, possession of a valid driver’s license, and proof of automobile insurance.

AmeriCorps is a national service commitment that meets a community’s critical needs in education, public safety, health, and the environment. Bay Area Community Resources and SEI partner to implement Climate Corps AmeriCorps, an award-winning fellowship program that provides professional development opportunities for emerging leaders through implementation of sustainability and resiliency projects with local governments, nonprofits, and educational institutions.
Upon completion of the term, CCAC Fellows receive a Segal Education Award of up to $6,495.00 in return for your service. You can use the award to repay qualified student loans and to pay current educational expenses at eligible institutions of higher education and training programs. Fellows who complete a 1700-hour term also receive a California For All Award of $3,505.00 in cash for educational expenses.

Basic Eligibility
AmeriCorps fellows must:
Be U.S. citizens or legal permanent residents
Have a high school diploma/GED
Be 17 years old or older
Pass state criminal and FBI background checks, and a national check in the Dru Sjodin National Sex Offender Public Registry
Test negatively for tuberculosis if working with minors
Be vaccinated against COVID-19 or submit to weekly testing
Live in the state of California
